the chair is probably mid-back height-- not low back, but not high back, i am 5'5" and my head is not completely resting on top of back as my previous high back chair. arm rest are plastic rather than padded which is what i wanted because previous padded arm rests on chair split after repeatly scrapping against desk over several years, solid plastic arm will look better in future

Mothers day gift, bad back, she LOVES it!

I got this for her as a replacement for almost the exact same chair that I accidentally broke trying to fix it. She had the chair for years beforehand and absoutely loved it. I felt guilty breaking it so I got it for her for This Mothers Day. It arrived at the store MUCH earlier than expected! I suprised her with it and she just about had a heart attack. I didn't know if that's a good thing at her age. She says that it feels excellent on her back, as she has compression fractures in some of her lower vertabrae. To me, the chair is ok, not something I would buy if I was sitting in it for any amount of time, but this chair was not for me, but for my 70 year old mother that uses a walker and power chair. I'm beginning to love shopping at Walmart online. I only wish they had a sample at the store for me to check out, but the pictures they have sufficed.
