The overall appearance on this is very pretty, however it does not fit standard US tissues. Even taking them out of the box and loading them into the tissue area You can only put a few in at a time or it pulls the top off when you try and take out a tissue. I'm a little disappointed in it for that reason but it is very ordinate in the background looks like mother of pearl shell. I got the one with the gold. I'm using it in my bedroom so I can pull a few tissues out before I go to bed and I can keep my fan remote and my TV remote in the other side.
