Connected new pump and motor up and nothing happened other than the sound of the motor “trying” to turn over. Removed motor from pump to see if there was an obstruction, because the shaft would not turn. I then took the motor housing apart, which I knew would void the return/warranty, but I was determined to try to resolve the problem since I was so far into the installation at this point. I saw metal shavings, and the beatings were so tight, the shaft couldn't turn. Not sure how it “passed inspection” when the motor couldn't turn. I guess now I'll have to pay to have it repaired. PoolSupplies contacted me back and “made things right”. They sent me a replacement unit a few days later and my system is back up and running great! I'll continue to use PoolSupplies since they have a great customer service department and back up their products.
