I reviewed the previous chapter, Ong Bak 2 and, as I said: This chapter should not be viewed as a separate one. It is just one movie split in 2. In this one is where you see where the path of vengeance, wrath, unforgiveness and hate leads: Death. This movie also reminds me of how many people in this life has commited suicide and how science associates this act with depression and so forth...After so much suffering for an entire life, beaten down to death and, after coming from nowhere without archieving nothing, sometimes a human being can just think that life is worthless and the natural sense of "surviving" is lost! What a turnaround! It is not about religion! How this man became a new person and with the help of a humble woman and a wise elder, he raised from the darkness and became enlightened! Great job by Tony, changing even his gaze! From deep hate and revenge, to peace, tranquility and love.
This movie has some of the most wonderful training scenes ever shown in a production, Tony Jaa does a fantastic job bringing some of the best natural moves that a human can make in that long training phase that takes a lot of time out of the film. In this version (OB 3) , we need to accept that, there is more fantasy thrown into it but, even within that fantasy, many lessons are still offered to the viewer. As I said before, IMHO, this 2 stage masterpiece stands along with Jet Li's Fearless as one of the best foreign martial arts movie ever! And I say so, as a martial artist. You get all the action and bloddy combat expected but, beyond the naked eye, you can discover deep lessons that you can even pass to your kids! Enjoy!
