Fantastic Book For First Time & Veteran Moms

I wish The Mommy MD Guide to Pregnancy and Birth had been around during my pregnancy. With the wisdom of 60 doctors, who are also mothers, divulging over 900 tips, tricks, and their experience, this pregnancy book just blows others out of the water! I remember supplementing one book with another on top of internet research and still being confused. This first book is amazing with no extra frills, the moms and doctors tell it like it is. Just like your pregnancy, the book is broken up into three sections along with a fourth part labeled Your Baby's Birth which is a great section to help first time moms relax about the delivery part of the pregnancy. A lot of books don't do a well enough job of covering this, but the MD Guide covers hospital births, at home births, and c-sections. As a c-section mom, I do wish the section had a more unbiased tone to it, but it's still a lot better than most books that only offer a little blurb about how horrible it is to get one! Within each section, the book is broken up into each week of your pregnancy as a chapter. You learn how big your baby is that week without it all being referenced to fruit! My best friend is almost 13 weeks pregnant and her baby is about the size of a hockey puck, which just happens to be both of our favorite sport! The standard what to expect is within each chapter as well as a cute section that gives you reason to celebrate, such as at 29 weeks; Your baby's brain has the understanding how to breath on its own, meaning, if you had to deliver then, there would be a good chance little one would survive! The chapters are rounded out with tips and advice from the doctor-moms on how to make the best out of the remainder of the week and the rest of your pregnancy! --Review by Becki from Outnumbered3-1.com

Great book,very helpful.

My wife and I found the information and tips in this book to be very helpful and comforting during her pregnancy. We could get answers to our questions/concerns right away instead of waiting for a regular check-up with her doctor, it was like having a doctor right in our house any time we needed advice. We have since given this book to friends and relatives as shower gifts.

I was so impressed with the detail and humor that helped me get through this new experience .I was able to understand the changes and not be scared to death every time something new and amazing happened to me. It was relaxing to read and easy to follow and I will be sharing this with all my friends who are also expecting and I am very excited about reading the next book.
