Good lessons for our grandson

We were looking for a cookbook for our grandson. My husband saw this one and liked the stories in the book about Guy's early life and motivation. The recipes may be too advanced for our grandson who loves cooking, but we can find other recipes. This is a book written by a male chef and Guy writes about how he went about achieving what he wanted to do in life.

It Doesn't Get Any Better

There isn't a cookbook that is any better than this one! Believe me I have had many over the years. The recipes are superb and easy to make. Stock up the spice cabinet though as the recipes call for a lot of spices. Personally they are too spicy for me, so I cut the spices in half and the dishes turn out perfect. This is back to good ole Grandma cooking. There is a potato recipe that calls for baked potatoes that you smash and then brown on both sides in bacon grease. MMMM Great!! I pat mine good on both sides with a paper towel to soak up the excess grease when I take them out. Don't be misled though, only a few recipes are high in cholesterol than the majority. What I call Guy's version of the chili dog is a fast supper or lunch and delicious. Bet you can't eat just one!! Recommend this very highly for mostly quick and delicious recipes.
