I don't think there's a pattern in this book that I don't like. I would make every single pattern in it, they are all so adorable! I love everything in it. All 60 projects in the book were knit with worsted weight Cascade 220 Superwash Yarn (100% Peruvian Highland wool), in a huge range of vibrant colors. You won't have to search all over the internet to find this yarn or a suitable alternative. Most of the projects are marked for the intermediate to experienced knitter, but the patterns are so well written and easy-to-read with beautiful pictures and excellent illustrations, I don't think a beginning knitter will have much difficulty knitting most of them. Patterns range from simple to more complex, but they're all just beautiful. Most of the instructions are written for sizes ranging from 6 to 18 months, most have multiple sizes. There's a few for size 3 months, with changes for 6 and 12 months in parentheses. I do wish the patterns covered larger sizes though.
The book has a wide range of projects to knit. Some of the projects you'll find are 2 sweaters, including a cute hooded sweater, 6 pullovers, a cabled tunic, 12 cardigans, including a Fair Isle cardigan, a lace-edged bolero, 14 different cuddly blankets in a variety of styles from patchwork to lace to multicolored (and mitered) block design. There's even a precious little Porcupine (hedgehogs!) Blanket. There are lots of accessories including pirate (earflap) caps, a rolled edge cap, ruffled cloche, sweet little legwarmers with ruffles, a cupcake hat, and the sweetest little sheep pillow. It also has the cutest little sheep cap ever--a must knit! There's 5 different little socks and booties, darling little dresses, 3 little jumpers, including a flowered jumper, and a ruffled top and pants set. Among my favorites are the Sweet Pea Cardigan, Purple Poppies Cardigan, Songbird Sweater, and pink Smocked Dress.
I'm so pleased with this delightful little knitting book! It's a wonderful go-to book for baby showers and gifts. Even if you don't have a baby in your life to knit for, it will be hard to resist getting this book!
If you love to knit for newborns to toddlers, this is a must-have book for your library collection!
