Probably good tires if new!

Tires were what I was looking for. The only problem is that Walmart sent tires that were two years old and expected me to pay new price! Born on date for one tire was 3711 (37th week of 2011) and the other was 3811 (38th week of 2011), which put them as being manufactured in mid-August of 2011. Beware! Check the "born on" date of your tires before purchasing! Many consumer advocacy groups recommend not buying tires more than 6 MONTHS OLD.

The warranty is 6 years and starts the date of purchase. As for replacement, we are unaware of any technical data that supports a specific tire age for removal from service. However, as with other members of the tire and automotive industries, General Tire recommends that all tires (including spare tires) that were manufactured more than ten (10) years previous be removed from service and be replaced with new tires, even when tires appear to be usable from their external appearance and if the tread depth may have not reached the minimum wear out depth.
