Versatile and beautiful everyday stoneware set!

I am very pleased with this set of stoneware. The quality is excellent with a sturdy feel to each piece without being overly heavy. Smooth exterior matte black finish and the interior glaze work is perfect. The variegated blue is a lovely multi shade color and one of the reasons I purchased the set. I also chose this set because of the very useful 4 pieces in each place setting - large dinner plate (can also be used as a small platter) / large salad plate which also doubles as a luncheon plate / large bowl which is perfect for pasta, chili, and soup / small bowl which is perfect for rice, beans, and ice cream. I specifically did not want any mugs. The large dinner plate does fit in my dishwasher without any problem. The set was well-packaged in the factory box. The distinct sizes of each piece make this set really versatile!
