This detector does everything it was supposed to do,I will be getting a 4inch so It does not sound on everything [aluminum] I come across! the 8inch is great for lakesides,beaches and parks,the 4inch searchcoil will be good for busy places like Schools,yards and sidewalks sides!.I am not shure if I will need the 10in searchcoil that will go deep and may cause problems with hole covering after dig spots?Maybe beaches it would work good on?Real Happy with this unit just remimber it has to be moveing to detect target,So i bought a fine detecter for finding target piece for digging it also is a bountyhunter!

I bought the detector to find my property stakes. I figured if a surveyor would cost about 250...I'd rather pay more than half less and do it myself. Based off Internet reviews, I chose this one. Within 5 minutes I found my first stake. My 10 year old asked could he walk the yard with it...and in about another 5 minutes he found a tiny vintage car. It has now become his toy...lol...Talk about getting a bang for your buck...Thanks

My father-in-law purchased this for my 6yr old son for Christmas. It was easy to put together with simple directions for the sounds, sensitivity, and depth. Within 10 minutes and a couple 9V batteries, we were out in the yard digging up loose change and bolts. Note that this is a metal detector that requires you to keep it sweeping (moving) to detect anything.
