Dremel Saved My Bacon,

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently discovered that two of our bathrooms needed grout work. Of course, it started with a door that needed minimal caulking. However, upon a closer examination, I noticed cracked grout in all major joints where wall, floor and ceiling walls met. In addition, floor and wall tiles had issues. I also decided to check our other tiled bathroom. I removed all grout from one bathroom and all connection area grout from the other. More than a week later, I am finishing the grout removal project. I had a rotary Dremel which I used the 569 Carbide Grout Removal bit tool on. Based on my past experience with Dremel and excellent 5-star reviews and 94 percent user recommendations, I also purchased a Dremel Multi-Max M35 and the half circle 1/16 inch grout tool. Both Dremel and accessories were invaluable. The marble tiles were placed very closely together in both bathrooms and the 1/16th inch tools fit perfectly. I will give a few recommendations on this 1/16th inch bit. With excessive pressure the carbide tip of the bit will snap. I expected that and, even after my first bit snapped, I was able to use the remaining part very effectively and with much harder pressure. On my second bit, I was more careful with the pressure and it worked fine. I used the new bit to get into tight spaces and the other bit to grind the deeper channels of the grout. The two bits actually worked very well together. I do not know what I would have done without these Dremel tools. You really saved my bacon! There are not a lot of 1/16th inch tools readily available in other brands. My new Multi-Max paid for itself in one use and I have other projects lined up.

Disappointed with grout removal tip 570

Hello I am removing the ground from the floor of my Roman shower The first blade 570 just cut right threw the grout and finally the tip caught on fire and I knew it was finished The second and third bit were done cutting after 20 min. I own two dremels. One pro with cord and one cordless. I like how the adjustable attachment guides the bit I do believe what others have said. At 15 a bit head this seams as if will be costly Disappointing

Dremel 569 lasted for a really short time

I should have read the reviews before shelling out for a Dremel 3000 plus the expense for a special grout kit. The bit that came in the grout kit is the same as noted here. Using it on the recommended speed it successfully removed grout for about 3 linear feet before the bit went dull. Unfortunately I still have 4 more feet to go. :( (sad face)
