Woud buy again
Polycarbonate material is what we wanted to avoid chair wheels from making dents on the mat. Dimples underneath keep the mat in place over carpet. Only downside is unpacking. I thought it would ship in a flat box, not coiled in a square box. A bit dangerous when unstrapping as it uncoils rather rapidly even with the "danger" upacking warning on the box.

This mat is absolutely transparent (even more so than the picture), which is wonderful because it doesn't contrast with the hard wood flooring or break up the decor of our home office. The measurements are true to size.
