In just a few minutes I reduced a pile of 10 Amazon shipping boxes to one box %26 that was not the largest box, with all of the other boxes cut into smaller pieces %26 stored inside the single box. I closed the flaps over %26 easily walked the 10-in-one box to the trash bin rather than having to juggle 10 boxes. I've been doing the same thing with hand shears but my arthritic hands protest; electric scissors make the job much easier. **Not having a lockable on/off safety switch is a deficiency for a cutting tool--at any time pull the trigger %26 the cutter start cutting--but a careful, responsible adult can overcome the issue. Not for kids to use. Gun shape helps protect the trigger but when you pick it up your finger naturally falls on the trigger so be careful. **Includes 2 cutting heads for different materials. Operating the difficult to operate slide switch to Remove a cutting head while not pressing the trigger is not easy. I don't change head often so my solution was a narrow plastic box with latches at both ends which lets me safely store the scissors with the head left on the device %26 no danger of accidental trigger activation. Box slightly longer than the device so I was going to cut a foam block to fill space but I found cutting straight lines in cardboard with the scissors is easy so I cut 4 squares of cardboard for one end then 2 squares for the other end with the 2nd cutter in a plastic bag behind those 2 squares made for a protected self contained set ready for instant use. ****Noise level: noisy but bearable, likely have other devices in-house noisier. Ear plugs included but likely overkill. **Some reviews mention a green liquid--apparently industrial lubricant--no concern. **This seems to be a standard design for this type device although some use a round metal wheel for the cutter. **No carry case but the box with a plastic tray insert makes a convenient carry case once the cutter head is removed. **Rechargeable battery. So far I have done 3 projects on one charge, Has 3 LED indicator lights on top to show battery charge level. Odd arrangement as all 3 lights being on means at least 2/3 charge but no way to show 100% charge. I have never seen less than all 3 lights being on. Has LED work light. **I have only cut cardboard %26 it has plenty of power for that. I don't know about material such as carpet, leather, etc. but I suspect it will cut those materials. **Overall I recommend this electric scissors with removing the cutter head being the top inconvenience, which practice might cure, but it did the job I wanted.
