A very good water filter.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We kept getting water that seemed to have particles in it. We have city water and thought that it was no biggie. But - I decided to install this household filter system. The first time after installation we noticed that the showers did not have the chlorine, cool. Also after about 2 1/2 months it turned almost black and water pressure had reduced. . no biggie I replaced the filter. It was doing its job. Now for a surprise. About 2 weeks later it was really black and water pressure had went down. I thought that I had bought a bum filter. Replaced it and all was well. A couple of days later I found out the city had worked on the main water line. . . dirty water ran amuck. . our whole house and hot water heater would have suffered, except we had that filter. . . . yeaaaaa. Was easy to install. Plumbing knowledge needed. Yes it does its job. Just a slight drop in water pressure, no biggie. It is a neat clean system, filters are easy to replace.

Excellent

I have had my system now for 4-5 years and haven't had a single issue with it. It was easy to install and it's very easy to use. Buy the clear one so you can see how dirty the filter gets. Otherwise it's pretty much a guessing game on when the filter needs changing. Filter is often quite dirty before there is a significant drop in water pressure.

UNIT HAS CHECK VALVE. MUST INSTALL EXPANSION TANK

Great filter. But you NEED to make it very clear in the instructions that there is a check valve inside this unit. There is a mention of an expansion tank in the materials list but that's is. My HW tank relief started to blow off after installing this. Couple days later the tank blew out and had to be replaced. Granted it was obviously close to the end of life. TO ANYONE BUYING THIS UNIT: YOU MUST INSTALL A DOMESTIC WATER EXPANSION TANK ON THE COLD LINE BETWEEN THE FILTER AND HOT WATER TANK.(if your house does not already have one).
