MY FAVORITE PRIMER

My favorite primer for all my craft/upcycling projects. I use a lot of milk paint and this helps me arrive at that crackling, crazing stage of my paint. It's also the perfect top coat. I usually spray 2 coats allowing about 15 minutes drying time in between. It has a bit of an odor but it's not off putting to me. I always use a respirator or at the very least a face mask while spraying. I love that I don't have to shake the can repeatedly also. I wish all paint spray worked as well as this. It's just a great product. The only drawback is the price.

I've been sealing my porous antique wood furniture with shellac after the Eaton Fire in hopes that it prevents any off-gassing or release of toxins that were absorbed into the wood so I can salvage those items. This shellac works perfectly. It's easy to use, covers a lot. I can't really speak to the appearance before or after sanding because I'm using it on wood that's inside dressers, etc, not really exposed to the eye but it seems to go on pretty smoothly. After a month of curing, there's no smell or stickiness so it's been working out perfectly. I've also noticed a reduced smell of smoke, so I think it's working. We'll find out after more testing
