Made in USA? BUT Worked less than 12 times

Replaced a well worn Yale lock with this one. It only worked for a few months, less than a dozen times before the combination no longer worked. Tried all the normal troubleshooting, dialing in the combinations 1,2 and 3 digits off before and after the correct combination. After many attempts, gave up and bashed the knob off and gutted the internals enough to retract the bolt. Purchased an OLD USED S
