Saved us money for sure in previous years to use water alarms and price is cheaper than they were years ago. .We use under out central AC Unit, in the hot water heater closet. This had a bonus of a top drip detector that I discovered while reading directions. place under drain pipes for double notification type. This type is not wifi. ONLY complaint is that the instrction manual print is so tiny I had to use contacts, readers, and a magnifying glass to read. so, To use pull the clear tab if any and sit flat to operate. For my check of the unit, Stick a barely damp finger on top of the slash area to test but not too damp. it has to be dry to stop alarming. Then I put a few drops of water in a plate and sit the unit on top of it to check. Dry off to stop alarm.
