Wanted to give you a long term perspective on this model along with another model I purchased elsewhere. 10 years ago I bought this exact Quorum under-cabinet lamp for use in the closets, attic, garage and under kitchen cabinet. These Quorum are hardwired for use with wall switches. The lamps are solid painted metal, sleek, white and not visible perfect for a modern kitchen. After 10 years of daily use all of the lamps still work perfectly and no signs of flickering, discoloration or corrosion. I use them with Philips thin fluorescent bulbs and I never even had to replace a bulb. I recommend the Philips warm white bulbs, energy efficient, thin fluorescent bulbs. I know LED bulbs are more popular but the thin fluorescent bulbs use similar power draw vs an LED bulb and emit a softer white output, so I won't replace the bulbs as long as it works. When I touch the bulb after extended use it is cool so unlike a halogen bulb energy isn't being wasted as heat so I can leave them on when not home for security without running up the bills. The lamps are made by Quorum which is an old, respected brand that QL tests their products. The brand does make a difference because I spent a lot of money on a chandelier about 5 years ago. The chandelier was purchased from a nationwide chain however it was not a known brand and did not QL test their product. The chandelier came with LED candelabra bulbs. The LED bulbs have all burnt out literally. The base on the LED bulb got really hot and it eventually caused something internally to get damaged. I was under the impression with the LEDs it will save me a couple pennys a day and never have to be replaced and after 10 years the savings will pay for initial premium. After having to replace the LEDs one time I am certain I would have been better off with a incandescent chandelier bulb because the incandescent costs a fraction of the price and are much brighter so I could use a 3 incandescent candelabras bulbs in place of 5 LEDs bulbs. Thank you BlingLights for an excellent product and at a reasonable price. I couldn't be happier with the long term performance.
