A different flavor of British Detective series

George Gently is different than other British detective/investigative dramas that I have enjoyed. Certainly the 1960s setting is part of it, but it is also the uneasy dynamic between the tough, well worn Inspector George Gently and the overly ambitious Detective Sergeant John Bacchus. It's very much like real-life in that sense. So well written and acted, that you'll be glad you tried another British detective series. I was.
