I was looking for straws to cut back on my usage of plastic. While these are very well made they are not going to work for me when it comes to drinking soda. Paper straw made my drink fizz out of the can. Evidently this is a little known fact about paper straws as I googled and saw comments about it and there is even a youtube video showing it happening. I also don't like how the part you put in your mouth gets soggy so quick and it seems to have made my coke go flattish and changed taste. I think you can tell from my picture that the mouth end is soggy and discolored from absorbing the coke - and I have not even finished drinking it yet! I'll give these to someone to use for non carbonated drinks and find myself something else as it was soda I was mainly buying the straws for. I have the steel straws but sometimes you want something you can quickly use and throw away. The steel straws you have to dig out your little cleansing brush to clean it. Off to find something else!
