I've used this oil for over 20 years on everything from old turntable bearings to my BG 100 circulator motor. It doesn't gum up and the viscosity is perfect for many applications. It's not a penetrating oil or rust preventer. I use it because it's a simple fine oil used for assembly of small parts.

Great for electric motor lubrication

We used this to lubricate a 120V C-frame electric motor for the draft inducer on a Lennox G16 furnace. After searching the internet the best price we could find for a new “assembly” was $750 , so we decided to take the old one apart and see if we could fix it. We found a great web page; there is a guy who specializes in fixing C-frame motors. He advised to stay away from the ordinary red can of 3-in-one oil as well as other other common 30W oils and instead use this Supco turbine oil. We cleaned up the old motor and used this turbine oil on it. It works perfect now. Saved us $750. For reference a C-frame motor is the most common type of 120V AC motor used in most smaller fans. When taken apart they have a C shape.
