I'd had both a hair clipper and a Wahl beard groomer for about 17 years. They both were getting dull, and the Wahl was a rechargeable whose battery would no longer charge. So I was glad to find this complete set from Wahl for a great price. Replaced both the old ones for about what one of each would cost at other outlets. Very satisfied with both the hair clipper and the beard trimmer. And I have rechargeable AA batteries for the beard clipper. I'd recommend this set.

I never bought a clipper with the lever on the side, and I was having some difficulty figuring out if the blades were aligned properly as it did not seem to shave well. I waited till I got my haircut last night and brought the shave kit with me to the girl who cuts my hair. To my surprise she also uses Wahl shavers, both professionally at work, but also for "side jobs" at home! She adjusted the hight lever and proceeded to cut my hair with my own shaver. It worked excellent for her, and seemed to me to cut as well as her own did. Blade alignment was not an issue, despite "looking" out of adjustment as the instructions indicated they seemed to be. Her's was slightly heavier, as it is made for daily use in salon's and barber shops and the like. The battery operated small trimmer works OK. It cuts kind of coarsely if that is a word to describe a shaver. Overall, for what I spent, you really cant get better shaver for the money.
