Once you have the clamp tips spread apart, simply place the spring clamp onto the mitered corner you need to secure, then release the clamp so the tips pierce into the wood and keep your stock in place. Depending on the size of your project, you may need to use more than one spring clamp on each corner to hold your stock in place.
