The item was very easy to setup and use, not complicated. I would buy again if needed.

Functional and flexible but horrible instructions

Since I needed this for indoor plants, I needed something that plugged in (no solar panel) and worked from a reservoir rather than connecting to a spigot, which limited which systems sold by Walmart would work for me. The bucket has an easy-to-remove lid, which is helpful when you are carrying a large container of water to refill it. You can also disconnect it without too much trouble to take to a faucet, but I found overall it's easier to carry water to the bucket. There are holes in the bucket for power cord in, water hose out, and water level indicator. The gaskets for those holes are very good. I have not had any leaks even when the bucket is filled above the level of the holes. Speaking of the water level indicator, it sucks. It consists of a small red ball floating inside a tube. Why some genius decided the tube should be a dark blue tint rather than clear is beyond me. It's easier to check the water level by removing the lid (even though that requires me to first navigate the dog-proof gate) than to turn up the lighting and squat down to red ball level to try to make it out. This system probably has the worst assembly and use instructions I have ever seen. Assembling it is actually very straightforward if you have ever before put together an irrigation system of any kind. But the instructions for programming the timer are terrible. Most of the problem stems from there being 5 multi-function buttons that change in function depending on what mode you are in. The ill-labeled buttons' corresponding lights are confusing until you get the system figured out. The directions got me started (sort of) but I had to play with it for quite a while (and I'm a software engineer by training!) before I understood how the thing worked. I didn't want to damage the pump by running it without water while I was fiddling with the controls, so my plants got overwatered during my many attempts. I recommend not connecting the drip spikes, but rather drain the hose back into the bucket while you go through your learning curve. When they say you need a hair dryer to soften the irrigation line, believe them. I didn't want to search the house to see if I still had one that works, so I tried (eventually successfully) to put it together without one. And I have sores on my knuckles to prove it! Eventually, I got tired of fighting it and went and got a hair dryer and the assembly worked so much better after that. Note that this is not a true drip system, but has low level sprayers. The directions do not tell you that the spray can be adjusted from barely dripping to a 6” (approx.) diameter circle by turning the caps on the top of each ground spike. It's possible that adjusting them all to just drip could put extra pressure on the pump motor. I only have one set to drip. Also be aware that there are only 12 spray spikes. All said, the flexibility, functionality and reasonable price make it worth the hour I had to spend figuring out the timer.

READ THIS - Honest Feedback

Ok, going to make this quick. The concept of this was excellent, I leave for 6 weeks at a time. So 5 gallon bucket sounded perfect! Hope the company reads this for some feedback to make the product actual connect the 1st time AND easy to program. 1. SO YOU KNOW - the pump outlet does not fit the main water line. Pump = 3/8 barbed Main Line = 5/16th. SO the main line does not fit on the pump. Had to run around town looking for a 3/8' hose PLUS a 3/8 to 5/16th barbed reducer. 2. The control panel is terrible. Only want to water once a week. It doesn't look at which day you want to water, somehow, you have to add the number of HOURS that it's off. I did not trust it one bit! Overwater\underwater = dead plants. Got a VIVOSUN 7 Day Programmable Digital Timer on amazon. After all the extra time I got what it really needed to work. BUT be prepared to be frustrated.
