My go-to laundry soap

Our 7 YO grandson spent last Summer with us and he attended day camp. His clothes would come back filthy every day. I was disappointed by the performance of expensive, brand name powdered detergent that wasn’t doing enough. I then tried white Jabon ZOTE and now that’s all I use when whites or special items have to get REALLY CLEAN. I’ve used the pink Zote also and they’re both just as good. There’s minimal pre-soaking and hand scrubbing involved with some difficult fabrics, but they also sell Zote flakes you can add to the washing machine and they do the job too. Cannot do better cleaning and removing dirt from your laundry for the price.

Zote Fresh!

It smells like citronella! 😀 Good for keeping the mosquitoes away. A little goes a looooooong way. I do not recommend using this in a homemade powder, this stuff is super slimy and needs to be diluted first by soaking flakes/chunks/whole bar in water. Made by soaking 3 bars in 5 gallons HOT water, let soak for as long as it takes to dissolve the bars. Rub the bars with your hands to help the process along. It will be sorta slimy blend with an *emersion blender* and it will turn out to be slightly thinner than regular detergent. *Emersion blender is necessary to bring to liquid consistency* You could also use a countertop blender. A hand mixer will not make it thin enough.
