plenty of material to fit big heads and big/long hair, the band and ties are wide and stretchy and long enough to tie it the way you want, don't worry about waking with aching ears. I don't tie mine tight, I let the elastic do the work and it stays in place all night. I went with Black is Best, so even if it does shed somehow it won't leave visible lint in my locs.
