Spend a few bucks more...not worth the savings

At least the kayak didn't fly off the car. That's why it's not a one star review. There's no padding or rubber grips so the kayak shifted by sliding across the cross bar. On the return trip I put some rubber between the mounting brackets so it held better for a bit but then slid across with such force that it bent my cross bar. That's after scratching the heck out of them.
