Good product, terrible delivery

Was packaged fairly well, considering it shipped from China. Fully expected glass to be broken upon arrival. Instead, just a couple of chips had broken off the wood frame, along with flaking paint. On the upside, it sort of added to the distressed look of the piece. My main problem, however, was with the delivery company, Estes Forwarding Worldwide (EFW), who showed incompetence coupled with lack of transparency, accountability, and basic understanding of the company's sole function. Was notified via email that item was ready to be delivered and that I should choose a date and a four-hour delivery window -- the available days were highlighted in green on a handy calendar supplied by clicking the link in the email sent by the shipping company. Date and time confirmed, I arranged to take off the day from work in order to make sure I was there to sign for the item when it was delivered between 10 am and 2 pm. Day of the delivery, however, the company was a no-show. At 2:30 pm, I attempted to call the delivery company for an update. There is ZERO way to get a live person on the phone, and you're redirected to an online chat with a customer service rep who, it turns out, has no more information than the customer. In the end -- as predicted -- the shipping company showed up COMPLETELY WITHOUT WARNING on a random day afterward. No email. No text. No phone call to set up a delivery day or time. Just two guys with a big truck in my driveway, attempting to figure out how I could sign for a package while I'm talking to them from 40 miles away via my Ring camera. Absolute incompetence from start to finish. I can tell you that I will never again do business with any company that utilizes EFW as its shipping/delivery company. As such, I will never again do business with Hayneedle.
