So Easy An Oldtimer Can Do It

This igniter was a no-brainer (thank heavens) to install. Being a senior with limited mobility we, my wife and I were able to change out igniters with no problem. With the assist of the end shelf to help support the Lexington 500 the change happened within 15 minutes. Rather than a phillips screw driver to remove the pot I used an 8mm nut driver. All in all it was accomplished in a matter of 20 minutes or so.

Perfect Fit

The ignitor was a perfect fit on my grill (Pit Boss Lexington). Installing the new ignitor wasn't too bad, you don't have to drop the hopper. Just make sure to tie a string to the old ignitor before removing it so you can fish the new ignitor through. I've also used it for multiple cooks since swapping and so far its been working well.

Honestly, I'm a little disappointed with the performance of this unit. I've had to replace the control panel at a year old. And have since had to replace the ignitor twice. Not real effective when it quits 2 hours into a 10 hour pork shoulder. The draw for me was to be able to set the temperature and walk away. But it seems I have to babysit this thing even worse than my gas grill. I love the idea, but am unimpressed with the reality. Ignitor (to the best of my knowledge) is working. These ignitors were ordered to hold in reserve.
