JVC HARX700 Precision Sound Full Size Headphones - Black

I bought these headphones recently from Walmart, and I must say, I cannot imagine a better set of cans for $30. They are solid, well made, and despite their size, they're fairly light. After spending a few hours burning them in, I find the quality of the sound to be excellent. The lows, mids, and highs are well balanced, clean, and strong. If you're a bass-head, this might not be the set for you. The bass is clean and well-defined, but not overwhelming, which is just the way I like it. I'd also suggest that these aren't the phones for plugging into your ipod and going for a run. They're very large, with a long cord, and they're made quite simply for listening to good music at home or the office. I find them to be comfortable, and they do a pretty good job of isolating you from outside noise. I'd suggest you listen to them through your receiver or perhaps use a headphone amplifier for best sound quality. All in all, I think these are the very best cans you can buy for less than $100, or maybe for less than $150 for that matter.

These headphones are large. Properly adjusted, they are a bit snug on my head. That being said, I wear them comfortably for many hours at a time. The ear cups completely surround the ear, and block sound so well I have to take the headphones off to have a conversation even with the sound off. The 11 foot cord is strong and of a large diameter, having a 1/8 inch plug with a 1/4 inch adapter. The sound is fantastic, with a strong bass because of the 50mm speaker diaphragms. The mid-range and high end sounds are well balanced and crystal clear, making these one of the best headphones I have tried regardless of the price. The sound is so good, I don't even bother with an equalizer.
