Key item features

Connect 2 SATA hard drives to an IDE motherboard or card. This IDE to SATA Drive Adapter Kit offers a simple way to install Serial ATA hard drives using an available IDE port - a cost-effective solution for using newer SATA drives on a legacy computer or a computer with all SATA connections already in use.

This dual channel bridge lets you connect two high-speed SATA drives without the cost and effort of upgrading your IDE (Parallel ATA) motherboard, while minimizing the space required for IDE cable connections - helping to improve airflow within the case which in turn helps to optimize system performance.

Plus, the IDE to SATA Drive Motherboard Adapter includes a power connector and SATA data cables, to ensure the upgrade to SATA is easy!

PLEASE NOTE: To connect to a power source, SATA hard drives require SATA power. If your computer's power supply does not have a SATA power connection, the SATAPOWADAP" text="SATAPOWADAP 6in LP4 Male to Serial ATA Power Adapter will be required.

Plug and play

I bought it strictly to be able to 'wipe' a pair of SATA drives before selling them. It worked fine. Plugged it into an IDE socket on the mobo and it took right off without any additional intervention.

A Grea Idea... but has some catches

This board made it possible for me to put a SATA drive on to an IDE system. It works well with the newer IDE systems that have a pin blocked on the cable, but I was trying to use an older system that has all of the IDE pins open. I had better luck with a newer system. BTW, this will probably not work if you have an Emachines computer and are trying to use this to boot up a system disk from another computer..
