Two Tone (Champagne/Charcoal) 5.9" x 5.9" Mortar & Pestle

I purchased this as a gift for my partner because he requested a stone mortar and pestle. I decided to upgrade him to marble! I also paired his gift with Hayneedle's ""Creative Home Marble Vanity Tray"" so that the mortar and pestle set could be really set off by sitting atop a precious-looking marble tray. I wanted his kitchen to look superb. The mortar fits with extra space inside this marble tray, and the light colored marbles of each piece match exceedingly well -- so well that my boyfriend thought they were a set. The mortar and pestle are good quality, well polished and heavy. He liked that it was larger than he was expecting. I give the product just 4 stars, however, because the top and bottom of the pestle and bottom pit of the mortar are not polished. Now I'm not sure if this is because one damages it anyway when grinding spices, but I thought at least the top of the pestle should have been polished. For that, I give it 4 stars.

The mortar and pestle is larger than I imagined it. It is very heavy but made well. Cleaning it is not difficult.
