Zoom 125 mm Alloy Adjustable Ahead Stem 25.4 mm

This stem made a great improvement in the comfort level of my ride and was not complicated to install, it was well worth the money

My wife and I bought Schwinn aluminum frame mountain bikes from our local Wal-Mart store a couple of years ago and have been very happy with both of them, we ride on and off road, but don't ride on aggressive trails. As we are both getting a little older now, we were having problems with pain and numbness in our hands from being bent over the handle bars so far. I ordered two of these Zoom adjustable stems, and was not completely sure they were the right size for our bikes, but they fit great, and when adjusted all the way up, make both bikes so much more comfortable to ride. I noticed that one of the other reviewers had a problem with a rattle or looseness in the stem after he installed them. I had the same problem on our bikes and found, in our case, that I needed to make sure that the forks were pushed up into the tube on the bike's frame as far as they would go, and I had to hold them in tight while the new stem was tightened down against the top of the frame. If the stem is tightened down on the tube that connects to the forks and is not tight against the frame. the steering will feel loose and will rattle. I got ours tightened down and they are great. I did not even have to extend the brake or shifting cables.
