Transmission

I bought this transmission and according to the transmission test performance Ernie has all of the appropriate boxes checked and he passed the transmission for delivery. I was trusting what Ernie said when he inspected it so we installed the tranny on my 67 Camaro. We took my car for a test drive but the transmission would not shift out of first gear. We checked the governor on the tranny and the shank was marred which then caused the top to shave off part of the gear. I am more than willing to give Ernie the benefit of the doubt but I am curious to know if this is something that could have happened during shipping. The governor gear was jammed into the transmission so I am not sure how he could have tested it.

Disapoint

I bought this trans last March so excited to have my first B&M trans. Finally got the engine put together and in my '40 Stude this March and found the trans would not move in reverse. Like one foot on the brake and one on the gas. No help from B&M tech support except we will call you back. Pulled it back out and found the C clip on the 1-2 accumlulator was bent and parts laying on top. Poor quality control. Tanks to many youtube videos I got brave enough to open it up.

Worse than the transmission it replaced

I bought this test to go with the motor I purchased. They both for installed in my 1970 C20 pickup. Motor is great...tranny is garbage. Let me first say that the tranny has around 1500 miles on it now but has been a problem since day one. On initial start up the tranny whined liked a turbo(still does). On the instruction page it tells you to fill it with type F fluid. I know it should be dextron but I follow the instructions so I don't void the warranty. I also checked online and others have done this so I figured okay..maybe it's a B&M thing. Well guess what...all it did was whine and slip. So with that said....I flushed the heavy and added B&M trick shift fluid. Wow...to my surprise I still have problems. I thought maybe driving it would make a difference. So now that the outdoor temperature is dropping, the tranny won't shift at all until warm. Or in other words start the truck and wait a half hour to drive it. I have always used salvage yard tranny but due to the age of the truck I wanted to do it right. So with an that said...Thank you B&M for selling me trash and not returning my calls
