This is a product that takes a lot of patience and two people minimum to build. Do not start putting this thing together if you are in a rush. The reason why the other bad reviews out there are even out there is because of those that didn't follow the instructions. Just go step by step, in a calm steady pace and have help. Now initial thoughts... the box was heavy... like really heavy. Opened the box and just brought all the parts up the stairs where I live. Then made sure to separate all the parts by their letters and screws and parts needed for each step. Took only about two hours with some breaks here and there to get it done. And after all the hard work and going from having the bed on top of just a plain bed under box to this is a huge step up. This thing looks great. The drawers are a great addition to the bed as well. Now If you are planning on putting this together so that your kid that loves to jump on the bed will sleep on it stay away. The boards as you see on the put together picture are just sitting there on top of one piece that goes all the way down the middle and two pieces that go across along with some other helpers on the edges. Basically there are huge spots where you could easily break the board if you jumped on the bed or something of the sorts. The boards are not fully covering the empty slot either and are not held down by anything other than four plastic corner pieces. And they are kind of thin. At some point I will just go to a hardware store and purchase some planks of wood that are more sturdy and reliable to put it in there. But later on later on. But either way. The bed is great and I am glad I bought it. Highly recommend it as well.

This is a great bed for the price. It came in many pieces and I was worried that it would take a long time to put together, as all the other reviews suggested. It only took my husband and I an hour and half to put it together (and I didn't do much). All the pieces were there and in good condition. The box was really, really heavy, so we left it downstairs and carried up all the pieces separately. We ordered the chocolate color and it is really dark, almost black looking. Without the box spring, the bed is lower to the ground and not as cushy. If you like a firm bed, then you will like this. Everything was easy to put together; however, one of the drawers does not lay flush to the bed. It sticks out a little on one side. I wish that there were more drawers on the other side of the bed too. Not just 2 small ones on one side. Overall, this bed seems to be sturdy and will last us a while.
