This bed looks exactly as shown, and is pretty easy to assemble. The package was kind of heavy for me (66 year old woman), so I had to open it and carry the parts upstairs in a couple of trips. Easy to put together two adults did it in about 45 minutes. Sturdy and nice beautiful solid wood. Feels well made and doesn't shake around. Bought one for each bedroom. The only thing it's missing is some holes to add a headboard. The 18 inches makes it very high off the ground. So only good option if your bed is about 13 inches or lower and you're not planning to add a box spring. I like that the slates were only about three inches apart and the wood boards were about 3 inches each. With about 6 legs total for a lot of support. Highly recommend!

WOW!!! Excellent packaging. Even the foam packing was wrapped in plastic, which stops all of the pieces of foam from flying all over the place. Instructions were fantastic. Very easy to put together. Solid wood. Nothing cheap here. Well worth the price. Took 1 hr to unpack, make sure all pieces were there, and to put together. If you are wondering whether to buy this, BUY IT!!! 5 Stars all the way around. No surprises, just a solid platform bed.
