A Great Interlude!

I'll be the first to say I was disappointed by the page count, but the Merry Gentry series is around the same number of pages per book so I can't complain too much. Especially when I'm not paying full price :). The story itself is in the same vein as Micah, in that it didn't really fit in a full length novel but worked great as a interlude to the events taking place in the Anitaverse. Plus if you have been missing the feel of the old style Anita books (which I have), then this book rocks. Just a simple tale of Anita running afoul of someone that will go to any length to have a loved one raised from the dead. Plus Laurell includes a short essay about how she got the idea for the book and cartoons from a friend showing how the same events could have played out.

A good read

It is short for an Anita Blake book, a liitle over 100 pages long. It a good read, I liked it. It's more on the range of Anita's life with her work, not about her realationships. If you are hoping to get more deepened on her powers and her connections with all her lovers then you are going to get let down. Jean-Claude and Richard isn't even in the story. It mentions Jean-Claude but that is it. But it really is good book if you are a fan of Anita. Of course, I didn't care for Skin Trade; the only book I didn't like out of all the Anita Blake series.
