Always get this kind with the black waist ties. The manufacturer sells another kind with the same-color tie in the middle of the waist, which tends to roll over. Also, get a size up. Sizing is Small: The large is supposed to be a 38-40. They definitely are too small for that. I'm returning and trying XL. My husband wears 36-38 waist, and these look really little around the waist. The elastic is great and very stretchy, but that also makes them tighter. Material: The material is very thin. I recommend these if you want them to sleep in or wear around the house. However, if you want them for the gym, they are very thin material. I think you can see through them. I would go with something with thicker material for wearing in public.
