As kid-proof as they get.
It goes on good'n'tight, but removable enough for cleaning. I love the handle/stand. With constant use by a 7yo boy, the stand stayed tight enough to be upright for more than a year. It doesn't seem to trap heat against the iPad. I only buy this type—when we upgrade tablets, it goes along too until we get a bigger tablet and I buy another one of these to fit. Definitely recommend.
