Cross country tested, Mother approved

I am a mom and a cross country coach, so my shoes see a lot of miles on gravel roads pushing a jogger as well as some miles on trails and the track pacing my cross country athletes. These shoes are lightweight and have been great so far. I usually run in wave riders, but the shadows were a cheaper option so I decided to go with them. They give the right amount of support for my needs. I have not done a longer run than 6 miles yet, but I have no hesitation in attempting longer distances with these shoes.

Great stable and supportive yet neutral shoe

I have a narrow foot, and the Wave Shadow have been awesome. I run more trail than road; and while most folks would recommend an official "trail" shoe, I've done technical half, full marathon and 50k in these shoes and been happy with their performance. They dry relatively quickly after running through streams, have decent grip for rocks and roots, and most of all put my foot in a happy neutral position. The fit is stable and supportive yet neutral. The one factor I'd wish for is a wider toe box. However, all shoes I've tried so far with wider toe box do not fit nearly as well in the heel and across the arch as the Wave Shadow. I'd recommend these for trails or roads, and anyone doing long distance. I trained for 50k+ in these, and had them about 8 months before they started to fall apart in the toe area.
