The fabric is sturdy, the pockets are lovely. Unfortunately for me the design doesn't lend itself well to unisex wear- I think because the fabric is stiff there is a bit of a billowy effect in the crotch area and the catching along my upper thighs just really emphasizes the extra fabric. 34" waist, 39" gut, 42" hips/buttocks and a size large was pretty loose. Might try a smaller size because I want so much for these to work but I suspect the pattern is really just tailored to closely fit male proportions instead of a more loose casual fit like the other mens shorts I own.
