These masks are thicker than several others I've tried which causes me to believe they are likely to be safer for their filtration ability. There is a little pocket area inside that allows you to slide in additional filtering if you feel it necessary to do so. I also like the two different colors because it helps me remember which one I used last and which one is due to be washed. The elastic for both ears has a little sliding clip that allows you to adjust how snug you want it to be, which is another helpful feature because on another type of mask I've used the elastic tends to stretch out over time. With these, all you have to do is slide the little clip a bit tighter if that begins to happen. I'd definitely recommend giving these a try because I do believe they are safer than ones being sold that are much thinner.
