Our Snackmaster Express features 500 watts of drying power that generates maximum speed and quality for dehydrating fruits, vegetables, beef jerky, and venison jerky. Helps dry food in hours, not days like ordinary food dehydrators. The adjustable thermostat allows you to dry different foods at proper temperatures 95-160 degrees, providing the flexibility to produce the best drying results. Our top mounted fan prevents liquids from dripping into the heating chamber! Our Patented Converga-Flow® drying system forces air down the exterior pressurized chamber not through the trays. Was looking for an inexpensive Food Dehydrator for an idea I had - didn't want to buy an Excaliber if the idea didn't pan out - this Dehydrator worked great - fan is on top for even heat distribution no rotating the shelves is needed, pretty quiet and best of all - it did the job! As soon as you plug it in - it starts up - no built in timer so I bought a wall timer for $5 - set the time, plugged the unit in then into the outlet - worked like a charm. I would definitely recommend this unit and the price can't be beat especially for a product that works beyond it's price point.

This makes great tasting dried food. I already owned square model from Nesco, the same company as this model. They are both wonderful. A temperature control is essential feature. I once ordered one without temp control and it took me 4 days to dry apple slices 1/8" thick and it wasn't even dried fully. This particular model would take about 6 hours to dry apples of the same thickness. I know what I'm feeding my family (no additives) and that's very comforting. I would suggest you to get extra trays, at least two layers.

Great Dehydrator
I had a very old dehydrator and only used it a couple of times. It took 3-4 days to do, what this dehydrator did in just a few short hours. I love it!!!! Now I am dehydrating everything, from fruits to veggies. I know exactly what is in my soups and snacks, because I did it myself. I am really looking forward to using this with my garden this year along with canning.
