i had to buy a replacement for the one that I bought in May because the company wouldn't honor the warranty because they didn't make that type anymore so I was out the money and the additional warranty that I bought because it just quit working so I did some research before I got this unit and right now I am very pleased with it not because it comes from a company of respect but a 10 year warranty also. the only thing that I don't like is that it works with a 9 volt battery and those are hard to find since everything runs on a triple A or double A or a C or D battery nowadays. besides that I am happy with it

Perfect combo alarm for smoke/CO

The box arrived quickly, labeled as BRK First Alert and had a sticker that listed out each item on the exterior of the box. Each smoke/CO detector was in its own box inside. The individual boxes were labeled as BRK, so I originally thought the wrong item arrived, but the actual alarms say First Alert. They came equipped with Duracell batteries inside, which was a pleasant surprise. Easy to quickly install and ready to use right away. Each device is in working order and appropriately loud volume. I ordered 5, but will likely order more for the rest of our home. I was looking for a combo smoke and carbon monoxide detector and this is perfect for single device installation, which also makes our ceiling look less cluttered. Nice white color looks new, compared to the beige ones that came with our home when we purchased it. This is a reminder to write install date on the back upon installation so you can replace in the suggested 10-year timeframe.
