This is an effective dishwasher cleaner. However, I use a plastic scrubbie to remove food residue before loading my dishes. I also follow the directions of the manufacturer of my 2006 dishwasher. Those directions are to run the hot water for 10 minutes before starting the d/w and 10 minutes after starting the d/w. Those two above conditions this product result in clean, sparkling and film-free dishes every time. This size package is very useful. It's a bargain for the size. Running my d/w every two or three days, this size package lasts for about 4 months, meaning that I'm not always re-ordering more d/w "soap."

9-10 years ago my dishwasher intermittently began making loud, screeching sounds during the washing cycle. Two repairmen could find nothing wrong. I read troubleshooting ideas online, and found the reason for the screeching. Anything involving powder detergent caused the powder to cake up, thus it did not dissolve completely. I began using these liquid Finish Dish Detergent Gelpaks and have the same dishwasher still to this day…with no screeching!
