Verified Purchase

Limited use item.

The angle of the needle nose pliers is useful but the opening and use of the pliers is harder than expected.

So close, yet so far

A great idea that falls far short of real world value. First the minuses. The knife blade and tools are very soft. I chipped the tip of the pliers pulling a tiny nail out of a plaster wall the first time I used it. Second, I twisted the flat blade screwdriver on a wood screw. Very, very soft. It's also very slow to deploy, you have to fold the pliers part way out, fish out the tool you want, then fold the pliers back in. It's also very easy to pinch yourself when folding the pliers in and out. Trying to use the tool with the pliers at anything other than all the way out (a selling point) is difficult as there's no detents to hold them in position. It's possible, but not as easy as it should be. The pluses are it's very light and compact and the tools are user replaceable so you can swap them in and out to get the exact tool you like. And if you're careful you can use the pliers at an angle, not 90 degrees, but 45 is possible. All in all I give SOG a lot of credit for trying a new approach to the classic Leatherman PST, but they failed in execution.

In My Pocket No Matter Where I Am

I've owned the Paratool since it came out and still carry that first one in my pants pocket everyday. Being able to use the pliers at different angles is priceless and have used it all over the world and has never let me down. I like it so much I have one in every vehicle we own and have given them as gifts to at least 12 friends. Every tool on it works perfect and even for things they where not designed for. I really can not say enough good things about this tool. I've even given one to my 80 year old father and he carries it everyday. Their That Good.
