First pair of boots

These were my first pair of boots ever, and have been nothing but comfortable, I originally bought them from a Dick's Sporting goods store in August of 2010, because some buddies and I were going on a hike and I needed some boots. For the past two years these have been my go to boots, the only reason for the four stars is that although great, the sole is what I'd consider thin for a pair of boots, and a lot of the tread on mine has worn off. I still wear them, but they have shown their age. Good boots though. Just wish the sole was a little thicker. It's hard to find a good pair of boots with the attributes of electrical hazard proof, waterproof and steel toe, all in one boot. So I have been pleased with these. They have kept my feet dry through rain and snow alike, and saved my toes from being stubbed on stone and the like many times. Very well loved.

engineer

A buddy talked me into taking up hunting. I had some casual 6" boots I wore the first few times and they wore me out. I was determined to find a GOOD pair of 6" boots for hunting and outdoor use. Over 3 weeks, I tried on at least 30 different pairs of boots from 10 different manufacturers and really liked these the best. I bought a pair and put them on outside the store to start breaking them in. The left felt like the toe seam in my sock was at the tip of my toes and I didn't pay any attention to it. I wore them a couple of days later and walked 4 miles in them, again I had that sock toe seam feeling. Got home and reached in the left boot and there was a crease/flat in the sole at the toes. The right boot had no flat and was fine. Returned them to G.M. and they replaced them with no problem. The next pair were fine and I've worn them several times now. They have softened up to the point I'm not conscious of them being stiff but the longest I've worn them is 6 hours at one time. What surprised me the most was they are more comfortable with 2 pairs of heavy stocks. I have to stuff my feet into them but after 6 hours in 20 degree weather walking in the woods, my feet felt great. They are starting to feel better during casual use too. Their pretty light, look great for a boot and seam to be getting better all the time.
