Instructions

Hob - From Ambient - On the stove. Bring 1-2/3 cups of water and 1 tablespoon tub margarine* to a boil in a medium saucepan. Stir in Mahatma® rice mix. Cover, reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes. Fluff lightly with fork and serve. Microwave - From Ambient - In a 1-1/2 quart microwave-safe dish, combine 1-2/3 cups hot water, 1 tablespoon margarine*, and Mahatma® rice mix. Cover and microwave on high for 3 minutes. Reduce setting to 50% power and microwave for 17 minutes. Fluff lightly with fork and serve. If your microwave does not have variable power settings, Follow your manufacturer's directions. Makes about 2-1/2 servings, 1 cup cooked each. *For authentic flavor-use 1 tablespoon olive oil instead of margarine.

the rice is pretty good and has very good flavor but cooking it in the microwave sucks bad. It says that you can also cook it in the microwave but it takes too long and causes so much steam. plus by the time it is done, it's still a bit al dente. It's good, it's the perfect portion for one person and this bag has one cup of rice in it. The flavor of onion is strong, wished it was toned down a bit but I think it is worth buying. will definitely cook in the rice cooker, it's definitely better than in the microwave.
