He has been fortunate to live around the world: Europe, North Africa and the Middle-East, always documenting the light that shines from above. This light was particularly captivating in Jerusalem. Painting from life, he sat for a month on the rooftop of an old hotel at Jaffa Gate in 1994. He prayed through his paint brush, rendering a luminous contemplative image. The warm tones and life of the Holy City flow through his hand and pallet in this painting.
