TRENDnet TE100-S5 5 Port 10/100Mbps Switch

Make sure you get the product you need - know the difference between a "switch" and a "router" before you buy! This was the lowest-priced network switch I could find anywhere, and also one of the most compact in size. Great price. I've had it for a month now and it has performed flawlessly with both my Mac and my Xbox 360. Power consumption is not the lowest, but for the price, an extra quarter watt is not much of a burden. Instructions were somewhat lacking, but not really necessary - it's so simple. Plug and play. The lights are bright. I placed a plastic bottle cap in front of them - now I can still see their glow through the plastic, and it doesn't keep me awake at night. It has no fan, so it's silent, but must be situated in a place where air can flow to keep it cool (do not cover it). The size listed above is of the box - the dimensions of the switch itself are more like 3 3/4" wide, 3" deep, and 1 1/2" tall - very compact. (Does not include space for cords sticking out.)

Works great. Connected my dsl to the input and my pc and bluray player to it. No problems with speed while using both at the same time.
